The defensive action it guarantees in plants has many useful characteristics also for human beings: it has a strong antioxidant virtue (greater than that of flavonoids and Vitamins C and E), counteracts the ageing of skin tissue, has anti-inflammatory and vasorilassant properties, can be useful as an anti-tumour and to limit the onset of thrombotic plaques.
