Glycyrrhizinic Acid
Useful for controlling blood pressure and against ulcers and gastritis
Glycyrrhizin (also known as Glycyrrhizic Acid or Glycyrrhizinic Acid) is a triterpene glycoside and the most important active ingredient extracted from the liquorice root. Thanks to its presence in liquorice, a plant useful for regulating blood pressure, it has anti-inflammatory, antiulcer and antigastric properties.
The use of licorice root extracts is not recommended in case of liver disorders, cirrhosis, pregnancy, breastfeeding or for children. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in cases of hypertension, reduced cardiac and/or renal function, hypopotassemia, or hypertensive heart disease.
Glycyrrhizin is used as a natural sweetener which, among other things, retains its sweetness even after heating
